What a month!

What a month! We had the successful fundraiser for the scholarship, met our new scholarship recipients, held a wonderfully informative Safety Day and enjoyed an amazing chowder dinner; the Cajun chowder was my personal favorite! Thank you to Dale Moses, Bradley Brooks, Rhonda Turner and Nancy White!

On May 1st, PC Scott Abbey will host the Past Commodore's dinner. This year a casual barbeque is planned for honoring our past leaders. On May 2nd, we will gather on the docks at Port Hudson for a renaming ceremony and open boat with coffee and muffins starting at 8:30 AM.
Our Fleet Captain, John Hunt, will have a Captain's Meeting at 10:30 AM for all boaters participating in the sail/motor-by so the exit from Point Hudson and in the bay will be coordinated. Please include our social members on your boat if you are going to move with the fleet in the bay. If your boat has not been moored at Point Hudson overnight, call the Port Office on Saturday morning to request a few hours at the dock for this event.

If the weather looks promising you are invited to join us at the dock at Marrowstone after the sail-by. Bring a barbeque item for this pop-up gathering. An email prior to the sail-by will provide more information.

A survey went out to all members this past month. Please respond if you haven't done so already. The board needs all the feedback we can get, concerning how we should gather and grow in the future.

Eight Bells: We lost beloved club member, Bob Williams. We all will miss his affable nature. Both Bob and PC Deb have opened their home and boat to so many of us. Now, let's all show up for Deb in any way we can.

Most Sincerely, Wendy Weeks
