We had our 8th workshop for Boating Experiences on Saturday, September 21st in our clubhouse. Captain El Duano Madinger gave a great talk on boating from the perspective of a skipper of very large ocean going boats, i.e. tankers, container ships, etc.

PTYC's Valentines Gift to Members - Imagine powering your diesel engine with nothing but a renewable, affordable, environmentally friendly fuel made from waste products. Its Renewable diesel (R99), a green fuel that meets the same specs as petrol diesel (D975). Its already used in CA and at most cardlock fuel dealers in OR and in SW WA and whole government fleets have converted to it. Please join us for a presentation by Captain Peter Wilcox on this and other accessible ways to reduce the carbon footprint of boating in the incredible place we live.

PTYC Member Harriet Cannon will discuss her latest book, Exiled South." This is an amazing story of blockade running during the Civil War.
Thanks to John Steinbeck and Edward Ricketts and the "Sea of Cortez," the Western Flyer became an icon of American literature. Despite all this she was neglected for decades, fell into serious decline, and even sank twice. Hear about her history and restoration at the January Member Meeting

9 deserving candidates have been awarded a total of $8750 in scholarships for 2023. We look forward to meeting most of them at our April club meeting, and introduce them to the members.
