We are full with 10 boats. If you want to still join, please call Jim Gorski at 907-230-6801 for the alternative registration process.
We are exploring new ports of call in Canada to include old favorites in the Gulf Islands and new (for some of us) adventures crossing the Straits of Georgia to the Sunshine Coast. In order to ensure that we have space, 10 moorage slips have been tentatively set aside in each of the marinas we visit. If we hit the 10 boat capacity, and more want to attend, they just have to call but may not be co-located with the club.

With this cruise we are heading to one of the most beautiful destinations on the B.C. mainland coast to visit Princess Louisa Inlet and the famous Chatterbox Falls. One frequent description is “Heaven on Earth.” This is an isolated inlet that is entered via the Malibu Rapids and is surrounded by 3,000 foot high mountains that sharply rise from the sea and are dripping with waterfalls. Yes, it can be wet, but it can also be glorious!

Darren and Daeron, also known as The Boat Geeks, published their first podcast on YouTube in January 2024. At the same time, they acquired the PNW Boaters Guide app. In just one year, the podcast had grown to more than 70,000 subscribers, and more than 13,000 downloads of the free Boaters Guide app. And this year they launched Boat Geeks Radio, which is nautically inspired original music streaming free 24/7 at boatgeeksradio.com.
They’re going to talk about how they got started, where they’re going, and they’ll share some fun moments from their more than 50 podcasts.
The program is preceded by a social time and followed by a business meeting.

Ever been to the Canadian Gulf Islands? Well both first time cruisers and experienced salts will enjoy this open-ended cruise up to Otter Bay on North Pender Island. The Otter Bay Marina and Resort is only 10 miles into Canada and it offers a full list of amenities that will help slow you right down to island time. The plan is to depart from Port Townsend on 6/22 and arrive in Otter Bay on 6/23 for a two-night stay. Starting 6/25, you can choose to go further north into the Gulf Islands with the Cruise Captain, stay more nights, or start your own journey back towards the San Juan Islands. You will have the support of an experienced PTYC Cruise Captain to prepare for Canadian and US customs. This cruise offers a wonderful opportunity for PTYC members and guests.

Come spend the 4th of July at Reid Harbor. A true PTYC tradition is the annual 4th of July cruise to Reid Harbor. For more than three decades our Club has shown our patriotic colors and embarked on a 4th July dinghy parade like no other to greet fellow boaters anchored in this lovely Harbor. Rain or shine, we brighten the day for those yachters who seek a "quiet" holiday celebration. This one is special, our nations Semiquincentennial!

Dust off that Hawaiian shirt or your best flowery prints and join our 2nd annual Marrowstone Island gathering at the home of Bob and Debbie Williams. The spirit of Aloha will be in abundance as we celebrate summer and warm PTYC friendships mixed with "onolicious" foods!
Explore the South Puget Sound with us. There’s good reason that South Puget Sound is home to over a dozen state-managed marine parks. The area is a labyrinth of protected inlets, calm waters, and a significantly more peaceful, rural atmosphere compared to the bustling Central and North Sound. Its waters are generally protected from heavy winds, often “feeling more like a lake than a sound”. The warm water inlets are a treat to explore so be sure to bring your BBQ, swimsuit, kayak, SUP, and even scuba equipment. Stopping over for a Mariner‘s game against is also on the itinerary!

This is our "welcome back" annual Soup & Salad Potluck night. Come share your stories of summer travels and cruising adventures. There will be no formal Program tonight so we can enjoy the company of our fellow members. Please bring a pot of soup or salad to share as well as your dinnerware and favorite beverage.
September is usually great cruising weather so why not join us for one last cruise before Fall weather keeps us at home? This year we are planning to head north on September 10th to Victoria B.C. for 3 nights and 2 full days of "play" moored in front of the iconic Empress Hotel. Then we cast off for a two-night stay in Sidney. This stop will give us the opportunity to visit the Salish Sea Aquarium and Waterfront Park. Two nights at Otter Bay will wrap up the cruise. Otter Bay offers something for everyone - wonderful hiking, two swimming pools and access to the local golf course.
September is usually great cruising weather so why not join us for one last cruise before Fall weather keeps us at home? This year we are planning to head north on September 10th to Victoria B.C. for 3 nights and 2 full days of "play" moored in front of the iconic Empress Hotel. Help PTYC make a splash during the three-day celebration of the beauty of wooden boats and the richness of our maritime culture by volunteering to work our tent at the Wooden Boat Festival. Our outreach will focus on cruising, boater education and the PTYC Fund for Marine Trades and Sciences. The map of reciprocal marinas is always a draw, plus many interested people stopping in just to learn more.

Program: The Derelict Vessel Reoval Program
Speaker: PTYC Member, Linda Newland
The Derelict Vessel Removal Program (DVRP) which is run by the WA State Dept. of Natural Resources (DNR) is looked upon as one of a very few programs of its kind in the US. We will cover the definition of a derelict vessel, the program’s funding, the current budget, an overview of the list of derelict vessels awaiting removal, the priority process, who removes them and how an individual or private marina as well as a government agency can apply for a removal.
The program is preceded by a social time and followed by a business meeting.
